What to Shop this Week

Week two of sharing what I’m loving and recommend buying at the moment through clickable links, I’m interested to see whether consumers have shifted from conversational commerce back to good old fashioned e-com retail. With so many personal shopping and styling businesses closing their doors, this social and business experiment is one I find so interesting on a completely personal level.

Of course clients will always come to trusted human sources for custom projects, made-to-order items and couture, but what about the basics and weekly skirt and top upgrades? Stay tuned and I will be reporting back…

Look One

Bordeaux is such a colour of the Season for me, and it feels sort of festive, but cool enough to bring out in November. The dress is by a new-ish brand called Violante Nessi that I am really loving at the moment, and find really wearable and easy to style and combine. Definitely a contender for Thanksgiving invitations, and early Christmas and end of year celebrations in London. I think keeping coat and bag tonal in this shade is so chic and really opulent in a way, and have added on some gold tone jewels to complete the look.

Look Two

These pieces are mostly by another new-ish brand called Sharon Wauchob, which feels super fresh and fashionable, while still being really easy to actually throw on and realistic to wear and not feel insane in. I love the ruffle blouse and the silk cami, and will definitely be adding the high rise trousers with the ties at the ankles to my wardrobe post-partum. These pieces can’t yet be shopped via the affiliate link, which I’m testing out for everyone reading this, but totally available through chat based media, in other words, conversational commerce which is the norm for me! Hit me up if these speak to you, like they do to me.

Look Three

So cool, so simple and a grey/chocolate combination I find incredibly elegant for this time of year. I’ve swapped out the Saint Laurent bag for one by The Row, which to me feels a little bit more understated and at the same time fashion forward. How cute is the tiny Calvin Klein shoulder bag too - do with it whatever you wish, or keep it inside the suede tote to pull out when you’re getting your lipstick out, I’m here for it. The loafers are The Row as well, and just feel luxe and so good for autumnal city strolls.

Look Four

I had such a hard Chloé phase the first time around, and remember working at Net-a-Porter at the time, and just loving absolutely everything Boho-frilly-girlie-feminine Chloé related. From saving up to buy pieces from the brand (this was in my early 20s) to securing dupes at Zara, everything I owned was in line with the aesthetic that is having a complete comeback this Season. I loved the Paddington bag in 2005, and for sentimental reasons almost want to buy it for Spring Summer now. 15 year old me would be so obsessed with this look, all I want to do is honour her style today.

Look Five

Now this is a bit of me. A knee high boot- you can do Hermès of course, or I’ve picked out a pair by Saint Laurent here - mini skirt and tights (which feel dressy, but in my head is always the more comfortable and easy option for Autumnal dressing), and a gorgeous chunky knit. This one is by Brunello Cucinello, and for head and that extra cosy-factor I’ve added a long sleeve top by The Row for underneath. Long coats in tonal shades complete the look for me, and I love this timeless one by Alaïa, which is one of those statement pieces that can live in a wardrobe for literally ever.

Look Six

I’m going to be super honest. I stopped suggesting, buying or recommending Balenciaga since 2022, which I have never really gotten over. Sort of like Dolce, which is another brand that I tend to steer clear of and will purchase only if asked to do so by a client; but these new Balenciaga pieces feel fresh, cool and really elegant. Am I betraying my head-strong self by sort of loving the wrap tailored jacket and matching trousers? And gosh that silk satin wrap shirt in ivory feels like it is so flattering and timeless… Here they are, Balenciaga on my recommended looks.
