Fiona’s Monthly Wishlist

It’s funny how shopping, and with that the habits of shoppers have changed so drastically over a considerably short period of time. It’s only been a few years since the thought of clicking through to a product yourself seemed preposterous, and instead, letting a personal shopper know what you’d like - sometimes even sending the link for the product - was really the only way to shop. And I get it! It’s safer, it’s faster (hopefully most of the time) and it’s easier, because you don’t have to deal with shipping addresses, logistics.. you name it.

Today I find that real fashion-girls find joy and maybe even a sense of achievement in sourcing and securing items themselves. That feeling of hunting down a pair of Chanel shoes globally and then finally finding the last pair available in your size in the Istanbul branch, and arranging a collection and third-party shipment from Turkey to your doorstep just hits different. The shoes have a totally different value within your wardrobe, and I remember the process of procuring every time I slip into those slingbacks.

So, without further ado, I am excited to share my monthly wish-list with clickable products to shop directly.

I’m in that beautiful phase of pregnancy where insomnia is apparently ‘normal’. And so instead of trying to rest at night when my toddler is sleeping, I have been planning my autumnal purchases for when I return to the Cotswolds in time for the first day of nursery.

First things first; My feet are always freezing, and my husband is sick of me stealing his slippers, and so a new pair of house-shoes has been high on my list of things to buy- and I’m not meaning a pair of cute sandals or silk embroidered loafers. I need roasting toes, especially from September onwards. These are great for anyone wanting to gift as well, I feel you can never have too many cosy house-shoes laying around, so shop this pair of pink fluffy UGGs here.

I update my Autumn wardrobe with new cashmere every Season, and have been loving Joseph for their no-fuss, easy pieces that last and wear well for the longest time now. For transitional wear I also enjoy a mid-sleeve length knit in an earthy tone, and this Saint Laurent top is super simple as a wardrobe addition and basic piece to team under jackets and cardigans. Max Mara also has terrific basics for Fall Winter each year, and I’m adding a slightly thinner wool turtleneck to my wardrobe at the moment- because why not?!

That certain je ne sais quoi is definitely achieved by adding a little lace under whatever you’re layering and wearing for the transitional Season. I love a lace cami, and tend to update my favourite pieces regularly to keep the lace fresh and crisp. The Zimmermann lace black bodysuit is a must for me this coming Season, which is also nice under a button-down cashmere cardigan.

Shoot me, but I’m still on a real animal print wave, and find faux and shearling fur animal print for Fall so chic teamed with boots or even simple grey sweats and a tee shirt. I loved this Zeynep Arcay Leopard print shearling piece, and am so glad to have found it around 3am post milk-bottle heating for my two year old last night.

My collection of Barbour jackets is ever-growing, but can you really have enough wax-cotton jackets when you live in the English countryside? I think not. I also think of guests coming up to stay and try to avoid coming out on a dog walk with me. No more excuses for you.

Jewellery wise I am planning a new era of jewels for myself, which is slightly larger and more statement than what I have been wearing day-to-day recently. Pulling lots of inspiration, Marla Aaron, whom I love and met in New York years ago, has a fantastic piece at the moment that I am eye-ing. On the same train of thought I’m obsessed with cocktail rings, and love this diamond and malachite one by David Yurman.

Different to my usual chat-based-media conversational commerce concept, all pieces can be purchased directly by clicking through on the links in the text, or by clicking on the image, and into my personalised moodboard.

Happy shopping and I’d love to chat about what you’re shopping and dreaming of at the moment.
